The Starkey Hearing Foundation

Delta Zeta's National Philanthropy

May I give graciously of what is mine,

In 2006, Delta Zeta’s National Convention voted to make Starkey Hearing Foundation a philanthropic partner with Delta Zeta for the cause of speech and hearing. Starkey Hearing Foundation uses hearing as a vehicle to reflect caring and change lives around the world. As a member of Clinton Global Initiative, Starkey Hearing Foundation has pledged to provide more than one million hearing aids to people in need this decade and currently gives more than 175,000 hearing aids annually.

Spaghetti for Starkey

The Omicron Xi chapter of Delta Zeta out of Mars Hill, North Carolina, have a $5,000 goal to donate to the Starkey Hearing Foundation, so "that the world may hear." Our chapter is planning a dinner event for everyone, in the local communities, to participate in, in order to raise awareness and funds about our Philanthropy, Starkey Hearing Foundation!

More information about our Spaghetti for Starkey event will be releasing soon!

Meet our Vice President of Philanthropy

Jaime Kelly

I joined Delta Zeta the fall semester of my freshman year because the sisters were so welcoming when I met everyone at open recruitment. The first night of recruitment I was hesitant, but when I started to talk to the sisters I realized that this was the most amazing group of girls I had met on campus, and I wanted to be apart of this organization. Later through recruitment week, my favorite night was Philanthropy night. During the presentation, I saw what all Delta Zeta supported, and I knew it was meant for me to be a Delta Zeta woman. After initiation, we were discussing executive board positions and I was not sure if I wanted to pursue one. However, VP of Philanthropy kept coming back to my mind, so I thought I should give it a shot. I’m so glad I did because it is such a rewarding position, and I’m honored to be the VP of Philanthropy. Philanthropy is all about serving, and I believe we should take every opportunity we have to help others. Service to your community, country, and world, no matter how small, it is always worth it. Do more, be more!
